I'm interested in making a batch of your baked beans because I know it will be much cheaper for my family in the long run. But with only 3 of us right now, a batch that sized will be way to much. Have you put left over baked beans in the freezer? How do you go about it? Do the beans come out all mushy once thawed? Thanks.
That's actually exactly what I do! I do it with soups as well.
If you put it in a freezer bag, then put the freezer bag into some sort of loaf pan or tupperware - it will freeze in a brick shape. Then once it is frozen you can retrieve your pan and leave the rest. Then when you're ready to use it, you just put the dump the frozen brick out of the bag and into your crockpot. Set in on low and all day it will thaw and reheat for you.
